7-on-7 Staff

July 10th, 2009

It’s not easy bringing 192 Players, Coaches and Staff to a single location. But that’ exactly what the NFL Youth Football Operations team did. The staff made sure Players and Coaches got everything they needed to compete in the Tournament.

Big Kudos to everyone that contributed to the success of the Tournament.

Character Development Session – Decision Making

July 10th, 2009

Character Development is a key element of the HSPD program. It’s vital that players understand how important it is to be a “good person”, a person with integrity and solid character.

Gerhard Sanchez, NFL NY Regional Director and LaLisa Anthony, NFL Midwest Regional Director led HSPD 7-on-7 players through an exercise and skit to understand how to make good decisions.

Players were broken into teams to present their skits demonstrating the impact of poor decision making.

Day One – Welcome

July 9th, 2009

Welcome to the 2009 National 7-on-7 Tournament presented by the National Guard. This year, the National Football League’s High School Player Development Program and National 7-on-7 Tournament have teamed up with The National Guard to bring this exciting opportunity to high school players from 16 different NFL markets all across the country.

Thanks to the support of The National Guard, the NFL was able to increase our HSPD Program and its character development curriculum to more than 100 sites nationwide.

A special thanks to the Wilf family and the entire Minnesota Vikings organization for all their hard work in hosting the 2009 tournament.
