  • The NFL 7-on-7 National Tournament is a non-contact football tournament for high school students.
  • The program attracts gifted high school athletes who compete in sixteen regional tournaments for the chance to represent an NFL market in the two-day national championship

The Game

  • Each team consists of 10-12 players and two coaches, with seven players on the field at one time.
  • The game is 20 minutes long with a three minute halftime. (The last two minutes of each half is real time.)
  • The field is 40 yards long with a 10 yard end zone.
  • Teams will play in a round-robin format on day one and be seeded to play in a single elimination playoff format on day two.

Participants

  • To qualify to represent a market in the National Tournament, each player will have completed the NFL HSPD program which includes the character development program.
  • In 2007, there were approximately 10,000 high school football players enrolled in the HSPD program.
  • Nine NFL markets were represented at the 2007 NFL 7-on-7 tournament in Houston, TX.
  • In 2008, we are including 16 NFL markets (8 AFC, 8 NFC).  The following year, we would like to include all 32 NFL markets.
