RACHEL NEWMAN BAKERNATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

DIRECTOR OF AGENT, GAMBLING AND AMATEURISM ACTIVITIES

Rachel is the NCAA Director of Agent, Gambling and Amateurism Activities, a position she has held since April 2005.  Rachel began her time with the NCAA as an intern in enforcement services in 2001.  In 2002 she became an assistant director in AGA and held that position until accepting the director position in 2005. 

As part of her duties as director, Rachel is responsible for NCAA activities associated with post enrollment agent, gambling, amateurism issues and the basketball certification process, including but not limited to investigations, cultivation of relationships with external constituents, educational awareness and the development and communication of legislation.  Rachel also serves as the primary liaison to the Division I Amateurism Cabinet.

Rachel is former women’s basketball student-athlete at Berea College where she earned a bachelor\'s degree in sociology in 1999.  Upon graduation, Rachel enrolled at Ohio State University and received her master\'s degree in sports administration in 2001.  While at Ohio State, Rachel was a graduate assistant in the athletics compliance office. 

Rachel lives in Fishers, Indiana with husband, Brandon, and daughter Katherine Elizabeth (Kate).
