Coach Ahearn is presently Head Football Coach at Frederick High School in Frederick, MD.  He is certified and has taught in three content areas: special education, social studies and physical education.  He has also coached track and girl’s lacrosse.  He is currently the second winningest coach in school history.

 

He is the site manager of the Frederick area NFLHSPD and the NFLJPD camp.  He also has coached the Ravens team in the NFL National 7 on 7 Tournament over the past four years.  This past tournament, Coach Ahearn was honored with the Coaches’ Sportsmanship Award for the AFC group.

 

Coach Ahearn is also a Regional Director for the Maryland Football Coaches Association and the Baltimore Touchdown Club.  He ran the state high school all-star game for several years and has helped develop several state and local combines and camps.  Coach Ahearn speaks at a number of clinics, banquets and camps in the area on an annual basis.

 

Coach Ahearn created and directs one of the largest spring passing tournaments in the area.  Encompassing three weekends with over 90 teams from four states, the Chesapeake Passing Jamboree is now in its 13th year.

 

Last year, Coach Ahearn created and a youth athletics organization for the Frederick, MD community.  He serves on the board of directors and directs operations as they pertain to the football program.  In only second year, the youth football program has already grown to five levels and over 100 players.

 

Besides a number of area Coach of the Year Awards, the most memorable honors were Coach Ahearn’s inclusion in MDVarsity’s most influential people in Maryland high school football and as a recipient of the Jerry E. Mears Service to Football Award presented by the Maryland State Football Coaches Association.
